Swimming Class Shah Alam

Coached at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club

A proper venue, not a public lane

Our swimming class Shah Alam programme runs at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club, one of the more established club venues in the area. For Shah Alam families this means a clean, well-maintained pool, a calmer environment than a crowded public complex, and the same structured AquaSplash method taught everywhere we operate. Children from three years old can learn to swim in Shah Alam here, from first float to competitive squad, in classes capped at five to six swimmers.

The Glenmarie venue is well-placed for families across Shah Alam’s residential sections and the surrounding areas: Section 13, U1 to U16 neighbourhoods, Glenmarie itself, and the nearby Subang and Kota Kemuning catchments. If you have been searching for a swimming class Shah Alam parents actually rate, the draw is the combination of venue quality and a coaching system that does not change from one week to the next.

Why Glenmarie works for families

The pool environment matters more than parents expect. A swimmer learning to put their face in for the first time does better in calm, uncrowded water than in a noisy public pool with twenty strangers. Glenmarie gives us that, plus the practical comforts of a country club: proper changing and shower facilities, shaded waiting areas for parents, and easy parking on site.

Before you book: the skill assessment

Every new Shah Alam swimmer completes a 15 to 20 minute skill assessment (RM10) at Glenmarie with a certified coach, so placement is accurate from day one. We watch you in the water, talk through your goals, and recommend the right format and level.

Children as young as three years old are welcome to begin their swimming journey with us.
Prior swimming experience is not necessary, as our programs are thoughtfully structured to support complete beginners and those at more advanced levels.
Indeed, all new students must complete an assessment to determine their appropriate placement according to their skill level.
What is the student-to-instructor ration in each class?
The class size for the Basic level is limited to a maximum of 5 students, while the Advanced level accommodates a maximum of 6 students.
Grouping is determined by the individual’s swimming ability, rather than their age.
In the case of light rain, classes will proceed as scheduled. For heavy rain, we will notify parents via WhatsApp 30 minutes prior to the class. Any cancelled classes will be rescheduled accordingly.

A missed class may be rescheduled provided the absence meets the following criteria:

  • Illness: A medical certificate is required.
  • Emergency: Advance notification with a valid reason is necessary.
  • Vacation: Kindly inform us at least one week in advance.
The class schedule will be provided via WhatsApp. Should you require a change in timing, kindly inform the administration at least two days in advance.
Children with a pronounced fear of water may find private lessons to be more beneficial at first. This will be carefully evaluated during the assessment.
Parents are welcome to remain on-site and observe the class.
How long does it generally take acquire swimming skills?
The rate of progress dif ers for each individual; however, on average, it takes about two months to complete each level.

Our program is designed with the following structured levels:

  1. Active Start (Wigler)
  2. Fundamental (Splasher)
  3. Learn to Train (Kicker)
  4. Train to Train (Improver)
  5. Train to Compete (Traveller)
  6. Train to Win (Challenger)
Progress is recorded in our internal system, Aquasplash UDIO, and parents will receive regular updates.
Children with prior experience may be placed in a more advanced level, subject to the results of an initial assessment.
